About the Job

A dynamic, growing multi-office Healthcare/Long-Term Care Litigation Defense practice is in need of an experienced legal secretary for its Wilmington DE office. The person in this position will provide administrative support to attorneys, and also do some paralegal tasks that are billable to clients. This position provides an opportunity to take ownership and initiative, serve as a right hand, be fully involved in the legal aspects of cases, and have client contact.  This position offers interesting and challenging work, a fun and flexible work environment, and generous benefits package.

Requirements

•Experience as a Litigation Legal Assistant or Legal Secretary, preferably in a medical-related practice area such as long-term care, healthcare, medical malpractice, etc.
•Ability to organize and prioritize workload, efficiently handle multiple projects, and prioritize tasks with competing deadlines. Strong secretarial and technical skills including MS Office Suite applications. Excellent communication skills and demonstrated assertiveness, take-charge attitude, and team-oriented approach. Able to demonstrate flexibility and initiative, and anticipate what needs to be done. Can understand and follow specific, detailed instructions. Attentive to detail and highly accurate. Professional manner with clients, attorneys, and others.

Equipment, Physical/Mental Demands, Working Conditions

Personal computer and other office equipment such as telephone, typewriter, calculator, fax machine, duplicating machine, etc.

Sitting for extended periods, standing, bending, stooping, and reaching. Occasional lifting up to 20 pounds. Manual dexterity sufficient to operate standard office machines. Range of hearing and vision sufficient to operate standard office machines and communicate in person and via telephone with internal and external customers.

Able to deal with stress in a fast-paced work environment with multiple priorities. Make decisions and adapt to changing work situations. Grasp and apply new ideas and technologies. Communicate and successfully interact with various personalities at all organizational levels.

Typical office setting, normally Monday through Friday business hours. Occasional overtime as required.
