Christian W. Francis
Christian W. Francis is an Associate of the Litigation, Business Practices, Employment Law, Health Care, and Long-Term Care Groups at Burns White, with an emphasis on medical malpractice defense, professional liability, civil and commercial litigation, commercial transportation litigation, and employment-related matters. He is currently based out of the firm’s Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania, office.
Mr. Francis has a background in general litigation, medical malpractice, commercial transportation litigation, employment and labor law, and commercial litigation. His experience includes handling personal injury and professional negligence cases, and a wide range of employment issues, including employment discrimination, wage, wrongful termination, breach of contract, discrimination, and unfair labor practices cases.
Mr. Francis earned his Juris Doctorate from the University of Pittsburgh School of Law, where he participated in and managed its Unemployment Compensation Clinic. While in law school, he held a judicial internship with the Hon. Joy Flowers Conti of the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Pennsylvania. He also clerked for several prominent litigation firms in Pittsburgh. Mr. Francis received a B.S. in Organizational Leadership from the Pennsylvania State University.
Mr. Francis is admitted to practice law in Pennsylvania and the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Pennsylvania. He belongs to the American, Pennsylvania, and Lackawanna Bar Associations, and is also an active member of the Scranton Chamber of Commerce and the Pennsylvania Motor Trucking Association. In addition, Mr. Francis is a member of the Human Resources Committee for Marley’s Mission, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that provides equine-assisted psychotherapy to children who have experienced trauma.
