Biography

John M. Skrocki joined Burns White in 2007 when his long-term care practice group joined the firm. He had been with his former firm, McKissock & Hoffman, P.C., since 2000, and worked for ten years with the firm of McWilliams and Mintzer, P.C.

As a Member of Burns White, Mr. Skrocki practices insurance defense, with a focus in long-term care litigation, medical malpractice, premises liability, and general liability. He has extensive jury trial and appellate experience, and has also successfully defended individual and institutional clients in scores of mediations and arbitrations.

Mr. Skrocki has addressed Pennsylvania Health Care Association (PHCA) audiences on various subjects impacting their industry, the most recent of which includes current trends in arbitration agreement enforcement as it applies to healthcare providers.

Mr. Skrocki is a 1987 graduate of the University of Baltimore School of Law. Following graduation, he served two years as a senior law clerk for the Hon. James C. Crumlish Jr. President Judge, Commonwealth Court of Pennsylvania. Mr. Skrocki received his undergraduate degree in Political Science in 1982 from Swarthmore College, where he played football and participated in Big Brothers youth mentoring.

He is admitted to practice in Pennsylvania, the United States Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit, and the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania.
