Emily G. Madden
Emily G. Madden is an Associate of the Healthcare and Long-Term Care Group, where she defends hospitals, physicians, and other hospital staff in major medical malpractice matters. She also serves a member of the firm’s Rapid Response and Incident Management Team, defending and supporting clients facing police or regulatory investigations, including sexual misconduct, physical abuse and neglect, child abuse and inappropriate touching.
Prior to joining Burns White, Ms. Madden practiced with a first-tier defense litigation firm in New York City, with a focus on medical malpractice defense. A seasoned trial attorney and litigator, she has handled all phases of litigation and case management, including conceptualizing and initiating litigation strategies, briefing and arguing motions, taking and defending depositions, managing discovery, counseling clients, and conducting settlement negotiations.
Ms. Madden graduated from Brooklyn Law School in 2011. During her second year in law school, she worked as a Student Intern in the legal affairs department of New York City Health and Hospitals Corporation. During her third year, Ms. Madden was a Student Clerk for New York State Supreme Court Justice Barbara Jaffe. She received a B.S. in Government and Art History from Connecticut College in 2006.
Ms. Madden is admitted to practice law in New Jersey, New York, and Pennsylvania. She is a member of the New York State Bar Association.
