Job Title: Legal Support Clerk
Location: Pittsburgh, PA
Responsibilities
- Follow detailed instructions to gather, prepare, and mail legal documents to clients, opposing counsel, co-counsel, experts, and others.
- Print, organize, and deliver material packets to attorneys, paralegals, and secretaries.
- Follow established naming conventions to save and profile emails, documents, and other data into the document management system.
- Review incoming invoices and complete check request forms for submission to the Business Office. Save forms and supporting documentation to the document management system.
- Coordinate uploading of documents to litigation support and other databases.
- Assemble binders, mailings, and other volume production projects.
- Assist with file intake and exit processes including creating and updating spreadsheets, organizing client release and instruction letters, and providing updates to the manager.
- Complete a variety of legal, administrative, and clerical projects.
Job Requirements
- High school graduate or equivalent.
- Experience in a secretarial, administrative, or other clerical role preferably in a corporate environment. Law firm experience a plus.
- Computer skills including MS Word, Outlook, and Excel. Knowledge of databases or document management systems a plus.
- Strong typing, secretarial, organizational, and prioritization skills. Highly accurate and attentive to detail. Able to follow instructions, and assertiveness to ask questions or for clarification. Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing. Demonstrated commitment to teamwork and customer service. Excellent reliability, follow-through, and follow-up.
Equipment, Physical/Mental Demands, Working Conditions
Personal computer and other office equipment such as telephone, typewriter, calculator, fax machine, duplicating machine, etc.
Sitting for extended periods, standing, bending, stooping, and reaching. Occasional lifting up to 20 pounds. Manual dexterity sufficient to operate standard office machines. Range of hearing and vision sufficient to operate standard office machines and communicate in person and via telephone with internal and external customers.
Able to deal with stress in a fast-paced work environment with multiple priorities. Make decisions and adapt to changing work situations. Grasp and apply new ideas and technologies. Communicate and successfully interact with various personalities at all organizational levels.
