Biography
Michael P. Gaetani is an Associate in Burns White’s Pittsburgh headquarters in the Railroad Law Practice Group where he represents Class I and short line railroads in cases that involve allegations of personal and occupational injuries and wrongful death.
Prior to joining Burns White, Mr. Gaetani was the Senior Deputy Attorney General for the Pennsylvania Office of Attorney General where he represented agencies in litigation, including civil rights and employment matters, cases related to racial, disability and other forms of discrimination under the ADA, FMLA, and PHRA. In addition, he represented midsized businesses, individuals and municipalities in a variety of matters, including contract disputes, business separations, oil and gas lease disputes and other complex litigation.
Mr. Gaetani received his Juris Doctor from Washington and Lee University School of Law where he was a staff writer for the Washington & Lee Law Review. He also participated in the study abroad program at the London Institute on International and Comparative Law. He received his Bachelor of Arts degree, magna cum laude, in Communications, Legal Institutions, Economics and Government, from the American University.
Mr. Gaetani is admitted to practice in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, the United States District Courts for the Western and Middle Districts of Pennsylvania, and the United States Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit.
