Attorney Cynthia Brennan was able to negotiate resolution of a serious personal injury matter without any financial contribution from clients being sued under a “piercing of the corporate veil” theory. Plaintiff suffered a fall from an access ladder to a roof in a Philadelphia apartment building. Plaintiff, a 24-year-old woman, suffered serious injuries rendering her a paraplegic. Plaintiff sued various corporate entities involved in the ownership and maintenance of the building. Brennan represented the owners of the business being sued in their individual capacities due to the limited insurance available under the applicable insurance policies for the corporations. After extensive and contentious litigation and a settlement demand in excess of $10 million, Brennan negotiated a resolution of the case without any personal contribution from our client.
