Biography

Bethann Lloyd is a Member in Burns White’s Pittsburgh office as serves as Chair of the firm’s Ethics and Legal Malpractice Defense group. Ms. Lloyd concentrates her practice in the areas of professional liability defense, including defense of legal malpractice cases, Dragonetti Act cases, disciplinary cases, legal ethics, subpoena assistance, licensure, lawyer disputes, risk avoidance and the defense of other professional liability claims.

Ms. Lloyd is Chair of the Pennsylvania Bar Association’s Professional Liability and in that capacity, plans programs and lectures frequently on risk avoidance and ethics for lawyers throughout Western Pennsylvania. She is also an active member of the Academy of Trial Lawyers of Allegheny County, serving as its President in 2024.

Ms. Lloyd received her law degree from the University of Pittsburgh School of Law, cum laude, in 1994. She received her undergraduate degree, summa cum laude, from Indiana University of Pennsylvania, in 1991.
