Biography
Elizabeth A. Stefanski is a Member in the Philadelphia office of Burns White. Ms. Stefanski is a skilled litigator experienced in complex state and federal matters. Ms. Stefanski focuses her practice on counseling and defending individuals, healthcare institutions, and corporations against professional and employment liability claims. She has experience successfully representing her clients through all phases of litigation including depositions, hearings, mediations and trial.
Ms. Stefanski is actively involved in the legal community. She has been a speaker at Pennsylvania Health Care Association (PHCA) events as well as for the Pennsylvania Bar Institute on healthcare litigation, infectious disease including COVID-19, and the effects of social media on the healthcare industry. She has also served as a volunteer for the Philadelphia Elder Justice and Civil Resource Center. Ms. Stefanski oversees the summer associate program and is also a member of the firm’s Women’s Initiative.
Prior to joining Burns White, she worked as an Associate at an insurance defense firm in Philadelphia. Ms. Stefanski graduated from Widener University School of Law. While in law school, she served as a Judicial Law Clerk for the Hon. Matthew D. Carrafiello, in the Court of Common Pleas for the First Judicial District of Pennsylvania. She received her Bachelor of Arts from Villanova University, where she majored in Political Science and minored in Business. Ms. Stefanski also served as Vice President of Pi Sigma Alpha, the political science honor society. She enjoys spending time with her husband and their three active children attending their sporting events.
Ms. Stefanski is admitted to practice law in Pennsylvania, New Jersey, the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania, United States District Court for the Middle District of Pennsylvania and the United States District Court for the District of New Jersey.
