Biography

Kathleen S. McAllister is a Member in Burns White’s Pittsburgh office and serves a Co-Chair of the firm’s Insurance Coverage and Extracontractual Litigation group.  Ms. McAllister focuses her practice in the areas of complex insurance coverage and litigation, extra-contractual insurance litigation, motor vehicle and premises liability, and personal injury.

Prior to joining Burns White, Ms. McAllister was a founding member of DiBella, Geer, McAllister & Best, P.C. in 1995, then known as DiBella & Geer, P.C. Since that time, she has tried numerous arbitrations, bench, and jury trials to verdict in various counties of Pennsylvania and West Virginia. She has also argued several successful appeals in front of the Pennsylvania Superior Court.

Ms. McAllister received her Juris Doctor from the University of Notre Dame Law School.  She received her Bachelor of Arts degree in English and History from the University of Notre Dame.

As an experienced trial attorney, Ms. McAllister is frequently asked to speak at the Pennsylvania Bar Institute, and has presented seminars on issues involving motor vehicle litigation, the Pennsylvania Motor Vehicle Financial Responsibility Law, bad faith, trial tactics and insurance law.

Ms. McAllister is licensed to practice law in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, West Virginia, the United States District Court for the Western District of Pennsylvania, as well as the United States District Court for the Eastern and Middle Districts of Pennsylvania the United States District Courts for the Northern and Southern Districts of West Virginia, and the United States Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit.
