Biography
Michael D. Sherman is a Member in Burns White’s Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania office. Mr. Sherman focuses his practice on defending employers, insurers, self-insured employers and third party administrators in workers’ compensation and appellate matters.
Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Sherman most recently served as the Director of Litigation for a mono-line workers compensation insurance company where he advised claim department members on issues of claim compensability, handling strategies, and settlement evaluations. He also provided oversight of outside legal counsel. Mr. Sherman has over 35 years prior experience in workers’ compensation litigation as a partner in two Pennsylvania workers’ compensation defense law firms.
Mr. Sherman received his Juris Doctor from Duquesne University School of Law. He received his Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from Rutgers College.
Mr. Sherman is admitted to the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and the United States District Court for the Western District of Pennsylvania.
