Biography
Daniel P. Martz is a Member in Burns White’s Philadelphia office and a member of the firm’s Executive Committee. He is a seasoned trial attorney who has more than 30 years of experience in handling civil litigation matters, with a focus on the defense of complex medical malpractice matters as part of the firm’s Healthcare and Long-Term Care Group. He has handled hundreds of civil cases as lead counsel throughout Pennsylvania, primarily in Philadelphia and its surrounding counties, and tried well over 50 jury trials to verdict. Mr. Martz also handles professional licensing investigations on behalf of physicians and other healthcare professionals. He also has experience in class action, bad faith, and other types of complex civil matters.
Mr. Martz was voted a Pennsylvania Super Lawyer in medical malpractice defense for 10 consecutive years and is AV-rated by Martindale-Hubbell, which rating signifies that the lawyer’s peers rank them at the highest level of professional excellence for their legal knowledge, communication skills and ethical standards.
Mr. Martz received his Juris Doctor from The University of San Diego School of Law, and his Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Arizona, and is licensed to practice in Pennsylvania, New Jersey (admitted to but inactive in California and the District of Columbia), and admitted to various U.S. District Courts and U.S. Courts of Appeal.
