Burns White Expands Cybersecurity Practice with New Data Privacy, Cybersecurity & AI Group, Appoints Chief Privacy Officers

Burns White LLC has introduced the Data Privacy, Cybersecurity, and Artificial Intelligence Group, expanding upon its Cybersecurity Practice Group established in 2015. This practice group is dedicated to advising clients on the rapidly evolving legal and regulatory challenges surrounding data privacy, data protection, artificial intelligence (AI), and emerging technologies.  Co-chairs Daniel Inadomi and Lyle D. Washowich will lead the newly formed practice area.  In addition, Burns White LLC is also pleased to announce the appointment of Daniel Inadomi and Lyle D. Washowich as the Firm’s Chief Privacy Officers.

As technology continues to evolve, the attorneys of the Data Privacy, Cybersecurity, and Artificial Intelligence Group at Burns White understand the importance of protecting against the significant risks that these technologies may pose to your information systems. The group brings together a multidisciplinary team of attorneys with expertise in privacy laws, AI governance, cybersecurity, and regulatory compliance. The group will provide strategic counsel to companies navigating issues such as privacy and data security compliance, data security incident prevention and response, the implementation of artificial intelligence programs, litigation, and insurance.

Mr. Inadomi’s practice includes advising clients on issues concerning data privacy, data security, and artificial intelligence. He holds CIPP/US and CIPM certifications from the International Association of Privacy Professionals (IAPP), and he regularly works with clients to ensure compliance with various state, federal, and international data privacy laws and regulations. Mr. Inadomi helps clients prepare written information security programs and incident response plans to prepare for data security incidents. He also assists with data security incident investigation and response. Additionally, Mr. Inadomi handles a wide variety of civil litigation matters including commercial litigation, financial institution litigation, automotive and motor carrier litigation, extracontractual litigation, and general liability.

Mr. Washowich serves as Burns White’s Chief Operating Officer of the Western Region and Co-Chair of the firm’s Banking and Financial Services and Cybersecurity practice groups.  He also serves as Chair of the firm’s Complex and Commercial Litigation, General Litigation, and Business Practices groups. Mr. Washowich focuses his practice in the areas of civil, commercial, and complex litigation for a diverse clientele from the financial services, business, insurance, transportation/logistics, healthcare, and manufacturing sectors.  He routinely handles class action, collective, and individual actions addressing data privacy, cybersecurity, and AI-related matters.
