Ana Guerrero Recipient of 2023 Burns White Diversity in the Law Scholarship at Thomas R. Kline School of Law Duquesne University

PITTSBURGH, May 9, 2023—Thomas R. Kline School of Law Duquesne University student, Ana Guerrero, is the recipient of the 2023 Burns White Diversity in the Law Scholarship, awarded to an incoming first-year, diverse student at the University’s School of Law. Ms. Guerrero, an incoming first-year law student at Thomas R. Kline School of Law Duquesne University, was selected from a competitive pool of qualified applicants.

“We are extremely pleased to support Ana on her legal journey through, not only funding, but practical work experience and mentoring”, said Mary-Jo Rebelo, Chief Executive Officer. “The purpose for creating this scholarship at Duquesne’s Kline School of Law is to enhance diversity in the legal profession by extending academic and practical opportunities to deserving candidates belonging to underrepresented groups to promote a more inclusive and varied legal community. Ana is a deserving candidate that embodies the spirit of this award.”

The annual Burns White Diversity in the Law Scholarship is awarded to a qualified candidate who adds diversity to the incoming class, and includes a paid summer clerkship at the firm following the successful completion of the recipient’s second year of law school. In addition, a mentor from Burns White will work with Ms. Guerrero for the duration of her legal education.
