Our Workers’ Compensation Practice Group provides legal consultation and risk management services to a wide variety of industries. We represent insurance companies and self-insured corporations before workers compensation judges, the Workers Compensation Appeal Board, and the Commonwealth Court of Pennsylvania. Client support is also provided related to the Federal Coal Mine Health & Safety Act and the Black Lung Benefits Act.
About the job…
Our attorneys are committed to helping our client partners achieve expeditious and favorable resolutions of workers compensation claims. On this well-established team, you will work a file start to finish and represent clients including:
- Attend hearings, depositions, and appeals
- Conduct legal research and draft legal documents
- Advise clients on their rights and obligations
- Negotiate settlements with opposing parties
- Maintain accurate case files and documentation
- Collaborate with other attorneys and staff
- Work independently and as part of a team
Ideal candidates have…
- Pennsylvania license
- Ideally candidates will possess 3 or more years of workers compensation experience (defense or plaintiff), however we encourage those with less experience or interested in changing practice areas that have an interest in Workers compensation defense to apply.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Willingness to take initiative and ownership
- Strong organizational skills and ability to multi-task
- Attention to detail and analytical thinking
