Biography
Eric G. VanKirk is an Associate in the firm’s Healthcare Group, focusing his practice on representing hospitals, physicians, and other healthcare professionals and entities with medical malpractice and premises liability claims.
Prior to joining Burns White, Mr. VanKirk was an attorney at a Pittsburgh area firm where he represented clients in matters related to civil litigation, school law, landlord tenant litigation, collections, personal injury, property disputes, tax assessments, guardianships, and HOA representation.
Mr. VanKirk earned his Juris Doctorate from Duquesne University School of Law and he received his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Duquesne University.
Prior to becoming a lawyer, Mr. VanKirk worked for the Department of Court Records of Allegheny County as Supervisor of Operations of the Criminal Division, and during Law School, was a Judicial Tipstaff/Law Clerk for the Honorable Michael A. Della Vecchia in the Court of Common Pleas of Allegheny County.
Mr. VanKirk lives in the South Hills of Pittsburgh with his wife Shannon and daughters Ava and Adalynn. He volunteers his time coaching youth sports and serves as a food runner for the South Hills Interfaith Movement (SHIM) food pantry. He enjoys golfing and spending time with his daughters as part of the YMCA Questors adventure program.
