Biography
William J. Clements is Of Counsel in Burns White’s Philadelphia office. Mr. Clements focuses his practice on Healthcare and Long-Term Care law, defending doctors, hospitals and long-term care health facilities in medical malpractice and liability matters.
Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Clements was Of Counsel at a mid-sized Philadelphia law firm, where he advised stakeholders in a wide variety of commercial, business, real estate and personal matters. A seasoned litigator, Mr. Clements has represented businesses, non-profit organizations and individuals in state and federal trial and appellate courts, in industry and private arbitrations and during government investigations.
Mr. Clements is an adjunct professor at Marywood University, where he teaches constitutional law and other legal study classes to graduate and undergraduate students. Mr. Clements has authored and taught numerous Continuing Legal Education (“CLE”) courses on a variety of topics.
Mr. Clements received a Master of Laws in Trial Advocacy and Juris Doctor, magna cum laude, from Temple University Beasley School of Law. He received a Certificate of Professional Studies in Accounting from Ursinus College and a Bachelor of Science degree from Penn State (where he is an alumni of the Navy ROTC program).
A veteran, Mr. Clements served on active duty as a Navy officer, deploying to the Western Pacific, Indian Ocean and Middle East, chiefly in support of the Navy’s amphibious operations. His military awards and achievements include the Navy Surface Warfare Officer Badge, three Navy Achievement Medals, the Navy and Marine Corps Sea Service Deployment Ribbon and the Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal. He was honorably discharged at the rank of Navy Lieutenant (O-3).
Mr. Clements is admitted to practice in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.
