Attorneys Ashley Griffin and Dave Johnson successfully defended a medical malpractice case in Butler County, Pennsylvania, against a physician accused of improperly prescribing an antibiotic, which allegedly led to fluoroquinolone toxicity and permanent injuries.
On May 31, 2023, after a seven-day trial, the jury returned, a unanimous decision in favor of the defense, finding that the doctor did not deviate from the standard of care. The defense had presented a family medicine expert, who explained that the physician made a proper diagnosis and appropriately prescribed levofloxacin. Defense neurology and rheumatology, experts established that the plaintiff sustained no long-term harm from the antibiotic. The case was tried before the Honorable S. Michael Yeager.
