Biography
Marcy B. Tanker is an experienced trial attorney who has represented clients in a wide range of complex civil litigation matters, including professional malpractice, products liability, defamation, workers’ compensation, and automobile and premises liability in state and federal courts throughout Pennsylvania. Since 2002, her practice has focused solely on the defense of medical professionals and hospitals in malpractice litigation. Ms. Tanker is a Member at the firm.
A frequent speaker on topics impacting medical malpractice litigation, Ms. Tanker has been a guest lecturer at Temple University Beasley School of Law and Widener University School of Law.
Prior to joining Burns White, Ms. Tanker practiced civil litigation involving a variety of personal injury, commercial, and medical malpractice cases. She was a Founding Partner of Fitzpatrick and Tanker, which later merged into Monteverde, McAlee, FitzPatrick, Tanker & Hurd, representing insurance companies in non-claims litigation, commercial litigation, reinsurance, and zoning.
Ms. Tanker graduated from the University of Pennsylvania Law School in 1977 and received a B.A. from George Washington University in 1973.
A member of the Pennsylvania Bar Association, Ms. Tanker is admitted to practice law in Pennsylvania and the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania.
