Attorneys Douglas Brockman and Ethan Benoff received a defense verdict in the Philadelphia Court of Common Pleas on behalf of a hospital and a vascular surgeon, in which it was alleged that hospital personnel provided improper post-operative care following a surgical procedure by the co-defendant vascular surgeon. The alleged injury included a total loss of function of the plaintiff’s left hand, including the partial amputation of a finger.  Amongst the defenses was the contention by the Defendants that the plaintiff failed to follow post-surgical instructions and recommendations. In addition to finding none of the Defendants liable, the jury found the plaintiff to be 100% contributorily negligent.
