Burns White attorneys, Robert E. Dapper, Jr. and Mary-Jo Rebelo, participated in the 30th Annual Federal Practice Program of the Academy of Trial Lawyers of Allegheny County. The program offered:
• an analysis of the Defend Trade Secrets Act of 2016
• an overview of the current term of the Unites States Supreme Court
• implications for civil lawyers regarding the Affirmative False Claims Act, and
• recent developments in federal practice
Mr. Dapper, the event’s program chairperson, shared his insights on recent amendments to the federal rules and case law. Ms. Rebelo addressed trade secret misappropriation with an emphasis on the federal court option. The event concluded with a Judges’ Roundtable of distinguished federal court judges, moderated by Mr. Dapper, discussing current issues of importance to the bench and bar.
