Jose Duque Recipient of 2022 Burns White Diversity in the Law Scholarship at Duquesne University School of Law

Duquesne University School of Law student, Jose Duque, is the recipient of the 2022 Burns White Diversity in the Law Scholarship, awarded to an incoming first-year, diverse student at the University’s School of Law. Mr. Duque, an incoming first-year law student at Duquesne University, was selected from a competitive pool of qualified applicants.

“The scholarship’s purpose is to provide opportunities for underrepresented lawyers in the legal community,” said Mary-Jo Rebelo, Chief Executive Officer, “Jose’s dedication to diversity and inclusion is very important in the legal industry. We are happy to support Jose on his legal journey by offering mentoring and practical work experience.”

The annual Burns White Diversity in the Law Scholarship is awarded to a qualified candidate who adds diversity to the incoming class and includes a paid summer clerkship at the firm following the successful completion of the recipient’s second year of law school. In addition, a mentor from Burns White will work with Mr. Duque for the duration of his legal education.
