The many teams that rely on the Production Center include Healthcare, Long-Term Care, Complex and General Litigation, Workers Compensation, Toxic Tort, Professional Liability, Employment, Commercial, Banking & Finance, Construction, Appellate, and more. Assignments can be short and simple, large and complex, very specialized, or highly technical.
- In the Production Center, jobs are received into a central queue and distributed to Document Specialists based on their availability, job skills, and interests. When one job is finished, you will go to the queue to pick up your next assignment. You can focus on accomplishing legal work, without attorneys coming to your desk or usurping your priorities. Say goodbye to constant interruptions, continually changing priorities, and other distractions!
- Team support. On this team of experienced and long-tenured Document Specialists, you will have plenty of resources for questions, training, guidance, camaraderie, help, and coverage. It’s a one-for-all-and-all-for-one environment. Together, this team accomplishes a lot of work and pulls together to sometimes do the impossible.
- You will be trained on the work of our many practice groups, filing requirements across a multitude of jurisdictions, and various firm technologies.
- While this particular opening is mostly onsite, you will later have options for remote work, reduced schedules, early or late schedules, and 4×10 work weeks.
Job requirements…
- At least three years of experience as a Legal Assistant or Legal Secretary
- Experience in multiple practice areas, preferably in a defense litigation environment
- Advanced technical skills including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PDF tools
- High degree of accuracy and attention to detail
- Familiarity with electronic filing procedures and court requirements
- Experience using document management systems
- Proven commitment to customer service and a positive, service-first attitude
- Ability to communicate professionally and effectively with all organizational levels
- Able to follow detailed instructions
- Excellent follow up and follow through
Equipment, Physical/Mental Demands, Working Conditions
Personal computer and other office equipment such as telephone, typewriter, calculator, fax machine, duplicating machine, etc. Sitting for extended periods, standing, bending, stooping, and reaching. Occasional lifting up to 20 pounds. Manual dexterity sufficient to operate standard office machines. Range of hearing and vision sufficient to operate standard office machines and communicate with clients in person and via telephone. Able to deal with stress in a fast-paced work environment with multiple priorities. Make decisions and adapt to changing work situations. Grasp and apply new ideas and technologies. Communicate and successfully interact with various personalities at all organizational levels. Typical office setting, normally Monday through Friday business hours. Occasional overtime as required.
