Burns White has appointed Pittsburgh Member Thomas M. Pohl and Philadelphia Member Elizabeth A. Stefanski as co-chairs of the Employment Practices Liability Group. The Burns White Employment Practices Liability team provides legal services to clients to assist with all aspects of the employer-employee relationship, including defending employers before federal and state agencies (EEOC, OSHA, and PHRC) and representing their interests throughout litigation, while also serving as an ongoing resource to clients by advising on day-to-day employment affairs, counseling on human resource matters, creating or revising internal documents, and providing educational programs and seminars to employers on various employment-law topics.

Mr. Pohl’s practice focuses on complex commercial and civil litigation, employment litigation, banking and financial services matters, and business disputes. He serves as Co-Chair of the firm’s Employment Practices Liability practice group and Co-Chair of the Banking and Financial Services practice group. He is a former Assistant United States Attorney and a former law clerk on the United States Court of Appeals.
Ms. Stefanski serves as Co-Chair of the firm’s Employment Practices Liability group. She focuses her practice on counseling and defending individuals, corporations, healthcare institutions and non-profits in both professional and employment liability matters with a focus on discrimination, sexual harassment, wrongful discharge and retaliation claims.
